Cabela’s Retail, Inc. is the world’s foremost outfitter and opened its first New England retail store in October 2007 at Rentschler Field. Its store is approximately 186,000 square feet, situated on 19 acres. Cabela’s receives over 95% of its energy from 4 UTC Power clean energy fuel cells.

The Matos Group Scope of Work:

• Obtained all Federal, Local and State permits (including STC)
• Carried project through site plan approvals
• Redesigned Cabela’s retail store template to better ‘mesh’ with Town and developer’s design criteria
• Provided engineering design
• Performed site work construction
• Assisted in construction management
• Perform property management services for Cabela’s (in addition to acting as landlord)
• Designed and arranged financing for Cabela’s clean energy fuel cells

• Cabela’s total building cost: +/- $70 million
• Cabela’s site work cost: $2.8 million

RENTSCHLER  FIELD
Rentschler Field is a 1,000 acre mixed-use brownfield development in East Hartford, CT that has been master planned and approved for up to 15.7 million SF of building space

The Matos Group Scope of Work:

• Rezoned entire site from Industrial to a Design Development District
    * Residential, Hotel, Retail, Office, R&D and Entertainment uses all permitted as of right
• Obtained all Federal, State and Local permits for entire development (including negotiated agreements with the Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency)
• Provided master planning, development, and property management services for United Technologies Corporation
• Received several planning and construction industry awards for project, including:
     * 2008 Annual Connecticut Real Estate                  award for Economic Impact
     * 2007 General Contractors of America Private                  Owner of the Year
• Total cost projected at over $2 billion at full completion

Delamar West Hartford Hotel
The Delamar West Hartford Hotel is a 111 room luxury botique hotel that opened in the summer of 2017 in Blue Back Square in West Hartford, Connecticut.

The Matos Group, in conjunction with Greenwich Hospitality Corp., submitted a creative and nuanced development proposal to the Town of West Hartford through an RFP process, which the Delamar West Hartford won.

  The Matos Group guided the development team through the ground lease negotiations and approval process with the Town of West Hartford, which culminated in a rare unanimous approval by the Town Council of the Town of West Hartford of this transformational project.
